Will it hurt to run this engine backwards to possibly get a little bit better weight distrabution. Im not familiar with the oil system in them all i know is that it does have an oil filter on it. So im wondering if i turn it around will it starve it for oil going around the corners. We run an oval track and a road course. If i could get pointed in the direction to do the research i would be happy to research it. Is there any kind of port work i could do to add just a little more flow? Or would that be an illegal modification in the Mod-X-R class. When i run the road course I have to change pullies to run the IMOW class cause that track is a USLMRA track and the other track is ARMA. So im not for sure if that modification is illegal for both classes. Thanks again for the help.

YOU CAN RUN IT BACKWARDS. AS FAR AS OILING IT WONT HURT IT. IN ARMA ITS LEGAL. IN US ITS NOT. THE WAY I READ THEIR RULES IT MUST BE AS IT WAS FROM THE FACTORY IN THE CHASSIS.

MOST OF THE TIME WE TRY TO KEEP THE WIEGHT OVER THE FRONT AXLE. THAT HELPS WITH KEEPING THE FRONT END ON THE GROUND.

Well I think i can just run it in there normal cause it weighs enough that there should be no problem. Is there some way to just put a screw or bolt in the throttle plate to set my RPMs like i did with my Briggs or is ther something different i have to do. Thanks for all the info.

I read some where on the net that some kohlers had aluminum flywheels from the factory. Is this fact or fiction? I couldnt believe it but thought i would throw it out there and see what you think? I dont know the answer.

I had a hard time believing it but you just never know!? Hey John im still trying to find how to set the rpm on this kohler for the MOD-X-R class cant seem to find the answer. Just wondering if you have stumbled on it some where? I just didnt know if there is a similar way like on the briggs. Thanks for the info.

THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE THROTTLE/CHOKE PLATE TO THE BLOCK IS ADJUSTABLE. LOOSEN UP THE BOLTS/SCREWS AND SLIDE THE BRACKET. SET THE RPMS AND RETIGHTEN THE BOLTS.

Ok I will do that. That is easy enough may be alittle more difficult getting rite at the rpms but should be able to get it very close. Thanks for the information John.
