This is my steering since on a budget I used what i had and trying to put it under the chasis made my steering stem to short i kept it on top. To alittle work and figuring but i got it. What you see is the steering shaft with linkage coming out to a pivot poing going to the front axle. When sitting on the mower it comes out the rite side.

And i told you wrong there is one of the rite side on there where i conect to the front axle from my pivot point. And the ball and socket ends you see are not factory they are some heavy duty one I came across and seem to be holding up great. I think eventually I will change them all over to heim joints though because i have not been able to find any more of these kind of ball and socket joints. The steering is tight when wheels are strait I have a quarter turn to full lock to the right and the same way to the left. So over all from side to side I have a half turn to full lock.

And now that the budget is starting over with the new year I will probably go ahead and upgrade to new wheels just so that i can eliminate some of the extra weight from reinforceing them. All my rods on the steering are aluminum I found the aluminum on ebay. I got three sticks of it 18" 24" and 36" for 12bucks and they were all predrilled in the center so i had no problems threading them. Ebay can have some great stuff. And best part I still have the 36" stick left. I think Im goin to build new clutch linkage and brake linkage with is.

Me to cause we live in basically a ranching and farming community and so it seems everything is done on a budget so hopefully it inspires people to see that it can be done without alot of money. I went out to mess with the dash and it ended up being a big change. Mower now has a new dash new hood and new grill. Trying to get them all mounted. So i will get pics of it up tomorrow. Basically it got a facelift oh and it now has new fenders to. Shocked

Yea I do to. I just have to build a dash reinforcement now. I went from that heavy steel dash to this plastic one so i will have to build a complete support for under the dash shouldnt be to bad though. Thanks for the feedback!!! Grin
