Well I need alittle info on this engine. Model is 31p777 type is 0237 g5 code is 110122ZA. I know 31cu 17 or 18hp single cylinder. The engine shroud has not decals so Im just wondering if its avs or not and how well will it work for racing. This motor was given to me. If its no good for racing I will take the carb and fuel pump and put it on my 28cu just because. I think i can also use the rod in my 28. But any how and info would be great thanks in advance.

No the filter is round. The rod says 28-31 avs but that all i can find for castingson the engine or any parts other than the carb. And the carb is a makuni that is on the engine. Hope this helps.

IF THE DIP STICK GOES THROUGH THE BLOCK AND NOT THE PAN, ITS A AVS.

Yeah if the filler tube goes into the pan and not through the block it isnt an AVS, if you tear it apart and the rod journal on the crank measures 1.250" it isnt an AVS
