well its hard to say. these are the ratios on your sprockets only.this will change depending on what pulleys, gears in the trans ect. on melissas s/p i run a 6 to a 4, 14 on the trans and a 46 on the axle. that works very well. but the gears on the inside of the trans have been changed. 1st gear is 30 tooth 2nd is 27 and 3rd is 25. all your gears on both shafts must add up to 50 teeth.
allso in 3rd gear its 25 to 25 teeth. a 1 to 1 ratio. most racers use this. but when you rotate the input shaft and cont the turns its more like 3:1 ratio.

i hope this makes some sence.

Yes it does. I will just have to open mine back up and see what the counts are on the gears. My 700 is only a three speed so it is hard to say how many teeth there are on each gear. I will also have to count to try and see where my 1 to 1 ratio gear is at. I'm guessing that maybe it will just be in the third gear. Even in the 3 speeds will all the gears add up to 50? Just newbie questions. Thanks for all the info!!!!

yes, every gear set will add up to 50. if you have an 800 series transaxle around, all those gears will fit in your 700 box.

I dont have a 800 here but i will go look threw the 2 bone yards of mowers that are real close to me a couple other racers that around here have about 25 used or junk mower apiece so i might find one there if not I have another bone yard about 2 hours away to try and find one. I will start looking. Thanks for the info.

all 700 and 800 series gears are the same. ony thing differant is the input pinion.(the small gear on the input shaft).
