Did you go with the diamond plate steel? Could you make that linkage like a very short tie rod on your steering to make it stiffer?

THE SLOP ON THE SHIFTER IS IN THE U JOINT. I USED A CHEAP TSC 3/8 SWIVEL. I GOT A HEAVY DUTY BLUE POINT ONE ON ORDER. IT WILL BE HERE MONDAY. ALMOST DONE ON THE FENDER DECK. A FEW MORE HOURS AND IT WILL BE READY FOR PAINT.

THIS IS AN OLD SEARS/AYP DECK. I HAD TO CUT 2" OUT OF THE MIDDLE AND WELD THE LIPS BACK ON.

ON THE DISCHARGE SIDE I ALSO HAD TO CUT LOWER HALF AND REMOVE 2" AND REWELD. WHAT A JOB.

The deck halves look very nice. What did you use as the swivle or u-joint on your steering stem? I like that the way it looks and that would work great with the new dash im using. Does the swivel have to be that low or can it be in the middle of the shaft that way i dont have to completly rebuild by steering?

I THINK I GOT THAT FROM GRAINGER. THEY HAVE MANY ONES TO CHOOSE FROM. THEY AINT CHEAP THOUGH. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO MOUNT IT ANYWHERE YOU WANT. BUT I THINK THE HIGHER UP YOU PUT IT THAT WILL CHANGE THE ANGLE OF THE TOP SHAFT. THATS THE STOCK ANGLE NOW. IM USEING A 5/8 STEERING SHAFT.

I would have to move it up about 4" from there is all Grubby that way i can still make my steering work and not rebuild it. What are they acutally used for? Are they a go kart type thing or a tool or just a multipurpose u-joint?
